Checklists

Session Prep

  • Confirm schedule & materials with caregiver (day prior).
  • Review current targets and data trends.
  • Pack materials; sanitize; charge devices.
  • On arrival: consent to begin; align goals with caregiver.

During Session

  • Warm rapport before demands.
  • Run targets with clear SDs; concise prompts.
  • Record data immediately; mark prompts; note context.
  • Embed natural environment teaching.

After Session

  • Debrief with caregiver (2–5 min).
  • Secure notes; HIPAA check (no PHI on personal apps).
  • Flag questions for BCBA; request feedback.

Supervision — what “good” looks like

Monthly minimums aren’t the goal; meaningful coaching is. You’re entitled to competent, accessible supervision. Here are two scripts:

Script A (New RBT): “Could we schedule a 20‑min coaching block this week to review [target/behavior]? I’ll bring 3 data snippets and one clip.”

Script B (Escalation): “I’m concerned our current training hasn’t equipped me for [scenario]. For client safety and fidelity, I’m requesting direct modeling and feedback before I continue this program.”

HIPAA hygiene (quick wins)
